Third-party certification of our battery invention is underway

EV_performance_gap_fixingBroadBit has selected the Fraunhofer IWS institute to carry out cell-level performance testing of our breakthrough battery technology. Both the high-energy and high-power cell technologies shall be characterized in terms of cell level energy density, power density, operating temperature range, round-trip energy storage efficiency, etc. The involved battery technology division works with state-of-the-art cell testing equipment, and is highly experienced in the evaluation of battery technologies with innovative cell chemistries. This work is expected to be completed in January, 2016, and the results shall prove the obtainable new performance gains in the field of Electric Vehicles, grid energy storage, or other applications.

BroadBit completes its study on the integration of Electric Vehicles with Smart Metering systems

EV control over SmartGridWith the conclusion of the PowerUp research project, BroadBit has completed its research work share on the integration of Electric Vehicles with Smart Metering systems. The project results demonstrate a complete end-to-end integration of Electric Vehicle control through Smart Grid systems, based on applicable V2G (ISO/IEC 15118) and Smart Metering (DLMS/COSEM) protocol standards. BroadBit’s particular focus has been the research on integration between V2G and Smart Metering interfaces, as well as the interoperability testing of these systems. The project results are summarized in this conference publication.

BroadBit joins ETSI

BroadBit is pleased to announce its joining of the European Telecommunications Standardization Institute (ETSI). Taking part in ETSI’s standardization work is one way through which BroadBit’s expertise in designing and testing vehicular communications networks supports its industrial partners. BroadBit will primarily contribute to the work of ETSI’s Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) committee.

New training course: Conformance testing with BTT

BroadBit launches new training course from end of 2009 focusing conformance testing with ASN.1 and TTCN technologies – including BroadBit Test Tool!

‘TTCN Conformance Testing with the BroadBit Test Tool (as a free TTCN compiler and testbed environment)’ training course explains how to set up and execute conformance testing of systems and applications through a standardized test methodology.

Students learn how to write TTCN test modules and how to set up the testing environment with the provided TTCN testing tool. The linking of abstract test suite to physical communications ports is explained in detail, as well as the practice of creating customized port handlers. In the hands-on part students practice comprehensive testing of a prepared course-specific application server.
